Tarin Directs FBR to Settle Sales Tax Refunds of Pharmaceuticals Industry

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Shaukat Tarin, held a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Association (PPMA) headed by its chairman Qazi M. Mansoor Dilawar at the Finance Division.

Chairman of the Pakistan Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Association (PPMA) explained the problems facing by the Pharmaceutical manufacturers, importantly the issues relating to refund of sales tax.

These issues result in unnecessary wastage of time and thus effect the overall working efficiency of PPMA. Furthermore, they urged the solution of the mentioned issues.

Shaukat Tarin appreciated the role of pharmaceutical manufacturers. It was acknowledged that this sector has a important role in the economic development of the country.

He promised the delegation that all such issues of the PPMA will be settled as soon as possible.

The Finance Minister then directed to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to carry out all possible steps for resolution of the issues of the pharmaceutical industry.

The PPMA delegation thanked the Finance Minister for giving the support and ensuring the resolution of their issues.
