FBR Introduces Multi-Factor Login Authenticator for Sales Tax Users

FBR Multi-Factor Login Authenticator – To ensure privacy, increase of security and simplify access to the sales tax system the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) through Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) has launched a Multi-Factor Login Authentication system for sales tax registered taxpayers.

What are the key features of the new FBR Multi-Factor Login Authenticator?

Following are the key features of the new system introduced by the FBR for logging FBR Iris Portal for those taxpayers who are also registered in sales tax with FBR.

  • Secure Access: Only registered and validated devices can log in to the FBR IRIS Sales Tax Portal.
  • Two-Step Verification: Sales tax users must first log in to both their IRIS account and the Tax Asaan Mobile Application.
  • Usage of QR Code: A QR code is generated on the FBR IRIS system, which must be scanned via the Tax Asaan App to begin device registration.
  • OTP Verification: After providing device details and location permission, an OTP is sent to the registered mobile number for authentication.
  • Device Validation: After successful registration, users must validate their device by scanning another QR code.
  • Multiple Devices Support: Users can register additional devices either from the FBR Iris Login screen or directly through the FBR Iris dashboard.
  • Easy De-Linking the Device: Unused devices can be easily removed via the “Registered Devices” section or directly through the Tax Asaan Mobile App.
