How you can claim the prize on winning 750 Prize Bond 2023?
A winning prize bond can be claimed within six years after the date of the draw from the State Bank of Pakistan and the National Savings Center. Moreover, you have to take your 750 original prize bond and a copy of your CNIC to the National Savings Center or the State Bank of Pakistan to get the prize money.
What is the rate of Income Tax on Prize Money of Prize Bond?
State Bank of Pakistan / National Saving Centre deducts Income Tax from prize money. The rate of tax on prize money depends on the active status of the winner with FBR. However, if the winner’s name is on the list of ATL, then the tax rate will be 15%. Otherwise, double tax rate of @30% will charge on prize money under section 156 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001. Moreover, to take benefit of the reduced tax rate on prize money, you have to become a tax filer.
Moreover, once you file the tax return, the name will then include in ATL for the such tax year.
