Income tax return filing reached at 2.93 million

Income tax returns reached a new peak of 2.93 million. According to FBR as per the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) issued on Monday.

Active Taxpayer list (ATL) issued on the basis of Tax Year 2019. Statistics based on the Income tax returns submitted up to November 15, 2020.

Last year on the basis of tax year 2018 total number of income tax returns submitted was 2.85 million.

INCOME-TAX-return — Which Persons are required to submit tax returns ?

It is compulsory to file income tax returns within due date for active taxpayer. If submitted after due date then payment of penalty is must after submission of income tax return (currently for tax year 2019).
