Latest Update on Extension of Date for Filing of Income Tax Returns

Latest Update on Extension of Date for Filing of Income Tax Returns. Premier tax authority in Pakistan the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has informed that over 2.9 million income tax returns have been submitted for the tax year 2023 till October 31, 2023.

Moreover, the FBR has not further extended the last date for filing of income tax returns beyond October 31, 2023.

Total returns filed up to 31st Oct,2023 for tax year 2023 were 2.9 Million approximately as against 2.57 Million filed during the similar period of previous year showing an increase of 330,000.

In previous year, the FBR had received over 2.5 million returns till October 2022. This year the FBR had received a total of 1.93 million income tax returns up to September 30, 2023, as compared to 1.87 million the last year, reflecting an increase of 0.06 million.
