This year in 2022, Eid Ul Adha, that is Eid ul-Azha, or Id-ul-Zuha Pakistanis will celebrate on Sunday, 10 July 2022. The date is subject to change depending on the sighting of the moon of Dhu al-Hijjah, 1443.

Eid Ul Adha Public holidays in Pakistan in 2022

Eid ul-Adha normally celebrates for three straight days in Pakistan. All private and government establishments will remain closed during the festival.

Let us see what government announced in this regard on Sunday July 3rd 2022.

Public Holidays 2022 Circular

According to a Public Holidays Circular issued by Government of Pakistan, Cabinet Division. Regarding Public Holidays in year 2022 in Pakistan previously issued Circular. As Eid Ul Azha in 2022 is on 10th of July 2022 then Eid holidays will be on 10th, 11th and 12th July 2022.

Disclaimer: However, we have given this information on the basis of above Circular. Government of Pakistan may issue a separate notification for confirmation of Public holidays on Eid Ul Azha.

According to Government of Pakistan in above CircularIn case of Muslim Festivals, the dates of Holidays are based on anticipated dates and are subject to appearance of moon for which a separate notification will be issued by Cabinet Division.

How Pakistanis Celebrate Eid Ul Adha?

Day of Eid Adha starts with morning prayers at the mosques. Muslims meet each with open arms and wish other “Eid Mubaarak” and “Eid Saeed” on this holy day.

The main event of Eid Ul Adha in Pakistan is the symbolic reenactment of Ibrahim’s obedience by sacrificing a goat, lamb, or ram.

Moreover, Pakistanis also distribute meat from the sacrificed animal to amongst family, neighbors, friends, as well as the poor.
