The Federal Board of Revenue has decided to introduce an automated system of electronic filing of appeals. This system will enable to taxpayers to file there appeal matters with Commissioner appeals online. It is an another step towards the elimination of corruption by removing personal interactions with authorities.
The announcement was made in a meeting with the applicants through a webinar session.
The FBR Commissioner’s IR Appeals Office is in the final stages of automation. Under this automated system, taxpayers can file an appeal against the decisions of the tax authorities on the Iris Portal through electronic filing.
This automated system will also enable the Commissioner IR Appeal to handle appeals on the Iris Portal.
Under this automated system, taxpayers will be able to easily file an appeal without having to visit any tax office.
This will reduce the cost of filing appeals and bring transparency to the system.
