What is UAE Virtual Work Residence Visa?
Those foreigners employed outside the UAE are now permitted to live here legally with a virtual work visa. This one-year visa allows them to enter the UAE under self-sponsorship and work according to the terms and conditions issued with the visa.

No need to Physically Present in the UAE
The ICP explained that applicants for the visa will no longer need to be physically present in the UAE when filing their application for UAE Virtual Work Residence Visa.
Work Remotely from the UAE
It gives more flexibility for those applicants who want to work remotely from the UAE, as they can file the visa application from their native location.
Period of the Visa
This type of visa is valid for one year. However, it can be renewed under the terms and conditions of the visa.
How to apply for the Visa?
To apply for the visa, individuals can use the ICP’s website or the smart application (UAEICP).
What to do after Visa approved?
After the visa approved, the applicant has to enter the UAE within 60 days to fulfill the procedures for their residence visa. Moreover, if the applicant fails to enter the UAE within this period, then the permit will become invalid.
Information & Documents required for applying virtual work residence visa?
The following items needs for such a visa:
- a passport with a minimum validity of six months,
- a recent photograph,
- a health insurance policy to cover their residence in the UAE
- The entry permit will email to the applicant’s registered email
- proof of employment with a contract validity of one year from the employer and a minimum monthly salary of $3,500 or its equivalent in another currency
- a salary slip from the previous month and bank statements from the previous three months
- fee for the virtual working program is AED350 per person
If requirements do not meet then their application will decline electronically 30 days after it returned to them. Moreover, If it returned thrice for the same reason, then it will automatically decline.
Moreover, if ICP declines Visa request then the fee and financial guarantees will refund.
