Pakistan Removed from FATF Grey List. According to media news, Pakistan has been removed from the Grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). For the last four years, Pakistan was on the FATF Grey List. Now, it is great news that Pakistan has cleared all the points asked by the FATF for such removal.
It was already expected that Pakistan is likely to be removed from the list.
Pakistan has achieved this after efforts of 4 years. Whereby, it faced scrutiny at each point to reach this success level. Such a grey list is also known as the increased monitoring list.
FATF President T. Raja Kumar said:
“After a lot of work by Pakistani authorities, Pakistan has completed a combined 34 items in its action plan. FATF recognises this progress. A FATF team has verified that reforms are in place, and there is high-level commitment and capacity to sustain these reforms,” said Kumar.
“Moving forward, Pakistan needs to work with FATF’s regional partner to ensure sustainable progress.“
