Dubai Mall in partnership with international payment service provider Planet to launch a pre-verified VAT refund pilot service in the name of “City Verification.”

With the UAE’s first mall launching the service. Visitors to the Dubai Mall can now take advantage of the hassle-free option to claim a hassle-free VAT return.

Seven self-service kiosks set up at the Dubai Mall for shoppers to claim their purchases refunds before leaving the UAE.

VAT Refund requirements

Tourists must present a valid boarding pass, their original passport or GCC national identity used for tax-free purchases. Along with original receipts issued by traders and tax-free tags from the date of issue of the tag. Must be verified within 90 days from the date of tag issuance.

The kiosk guidelines will guide tourists through the verification process to enable them to claim VAT refunds that can be processed by credit / debit card, WeChat or cash.

VAT refund service is available daily during mall operating hours.
