IT Exports Increased by 40%

According to the Ministry of information and communication technology (ICT) exports of IT and telecommunication during July-December of the fiscal year 2020-21 increased by 40% to US 958 million.

This growth attributed to the increase in exports of telecommunications, computers and information services. IT ministry claimed that it has achieved the highest ever growth rate for IT exports. He also clarified that Pakistan’s IT industry is developing rapidly and the Ministry of IT is working to increase exports by encouraging IT companies in this sector.

The Federal Minister for IT also lauded the role of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) in bringing innovation and development in the country’s IT industry. In addition to increasing exports, a total of 15 software technology parks have been set up across the country, covering an area of ​​1.1 million square feet and providing direct employment to more than 10,000 people.

Fund has approved projects worth over Rs. 14 billion to improve broadband services, mobile services and fiber optic operations in remote areas of Pakistan. While fiber optic projects worth Rs 9 billion have been approved for FATA and Balochistan. Plans to ensure high speed broadband services for Jhelum, Chakwal and several other cities have also been approved.
