The government appointed a permanent chairman of the FBR after six months.
According to the notification of appointment by Establishment Division, Javed Ghani of Grade 22 has been appointed as Chairman of FBR. His appointment as Chairman FBR will take effect immediately.
According to the notification, Javed Ghani had the additional charge of Chairman FBR for 6 months. Javed Ghani will remain chairman FBR till retirement or re-appointment. Javed Ghani was a member of FBR.

Muhammad Javed Ghani has worked at the Customs Headquarters and at various ports, airports, and border customs offices including Karachi and Islamabad airports and Gwadar Sea Port, Sost (border with China), Chaman (border with Afghanistan), Taftan (border with Iran), Karachi Sea Port, Quetta, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot Inland Ports.
Qualification of the newly appointed chairman FBR
Master’s degree in International Economic Law from Warwick University, United Kingdom. A Master’s Degree in Economics from Government College (Punjab University), Lahore, Pakistan.
