FBR Extends Working Hours on December 30-31 for Tax Collections

FBR Extends Working Hours on December 30-31 for Tax Collections. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday directed the offices of Inland Revenue LTO/MTOs/CTOs/RTOs to observe extended working hours to facilitate taxpayers in payment of duties and taxes.

The FBR in an office memorandum directed all Large Taxpayers Offices (LTOs)/ Medium Tax Office (MTO)/ Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs)/ Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) to open and observed extended working hours till 08:00 PM on Friday December 30, 2022 and till 10:00 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2022 to facilitate the taxpayers in payment of duties and taxes.

Moreover, FBR said to, all Chief Commissioners Inland Revenue, “to establish liaison with State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and authorized branches of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to ensure transfer of tax collected by these branches to the respective branches of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on the same date to account for the same towards collection for the month of December 2022.“

Further, FBR also directed, ” In this regard, Chief Commissioners IR may instruct only those officers/officials who will involve in taxpayers’ facilitation, return filing, collection and recovery of tax to observe extended working hours.“

All taxpayers must keep in mind here that last date to file annual income tax returns for tax year 2022 for corporate sector is also December 31st, 2022.
