What is the Surcharge for ATL FBR 2023. After 1st March, 2023 if a late filer of an income tax return wants to become an active tax filer, he needs to pay a penalty/surcharge for ATL after submitting the tax return for the tax year 2022.
For instance, now if one wants to become an active tax filer with FBR then there is a need to submit a tax return for the tax year 2022 along with a penalty/surcharge for ATL for the tax year 2022.
The taxpayers who have filed tax returns for Tax Year 2022 after the due date and whose current status is “Inactive” in FBR, can pay a surcharge for ATL as per the following rates:
Surcharge for ATL – Individual Person & Salaried Class
For becoming an active tax filer for an individual/salaried taxpayer the rate of surcharge for ATL in FBR is Rs1,000. The such taxpayer first needs to submit a tax return for the tax year 2022. Then prepare a challan for payment of the surcharge for ATL. After payment of a such surcharge, FBR will add the name of the taxpayer to the list of active taxpayers.
Surcharge for ATL – AOP & Partnership Business
For becoming an active tax filer for an AOP/Partnership business the rate of surcharge for ATL in FBR is Rs10,000. The such taxpayer first needs to submit a tax return for the tax year 2022. Then prepare a challan for payment of the surcharge for ATL. After payment of a such surcharge, FBR will add the name of the AOP/Partnership to the list of active taxpayers.
Surcharge for ATL – Private/Public Limited Company
For becoming an active tax filer for a Private/Public Limited Company the rate of surcharge for ATL in FBR is Rs20,000. The such taxpayer first needs to submit a tax return for the tax year 2022. Then prepare a challan for payment of the surcharge for ATL. After payment of a such surcharge, FBR will add the name of the Private/Public Limited Company to the list of active taxpayers.
