There are three categories of prizes for winners of the RS750 prize bond draw.
The first prize is for one winner which is amounting to RS1,500,000. The second prize is for three winners which are amounting to RS500,000 for each winner. The third prize is for 1,696 winners which amounts to RS9,300 for each winner.
How much is the tax rate on Prize Bond Winnings?
The above-given amounts of prizes are gross amounts before the deduction of tax on prize winnings. The tax rate on prize bond winnings is @15% for tax return filers. However, the tax rate for non-filers is double which is @30% of the gross amount of the winning amount.
