FBR and Provincial Revenue Authorities sign MoU on Single Portal and Return for Sales Tax

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and all other four Provincial Revenue Authorities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a single web portal for sales tax return.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the Chairman FBR on behalf of FBR. The heads of all provincial revenue authorities signed the MoU on behalf of their respective revenue authorities.

The representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) and Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) were physically present in the MoU signing ceremony. However, the representatives of Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) and Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) participated via Zoom technology.

Dr. Waqar Masood Khan, SA to Prime Minister on Revenue said that the signing of the MoU is another step towards making of FBR fully automated. It will help to resolve other issues currently existing between FBR and Provincial Revenue Authorities. Single web portal will bring ease for the business community. It will also help simplify the tax system and procedures. He spoke about the facilities available under the Memorandum of Understanding and the improvements in the tax system and procedures.

The Special Assistant for Revenue congratulated the Chairman FBR, officials of all Provincial Revenue Authorities and the FBR Policy Wing Team for crossing this milestone.
