Chairman FBR / Secretary Revenue Division, Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed has condemned the firing incident in Allama Iqbal Town,Lahore targeting an officer of FBR.
This evening, Mr. Salman Naveed, an IRS officer posted in Anti- Benami Zone left his office accompanied by his friend Sardar Solangi. On their way to DOT, Allama Iqbal Town, as they reached traffic signal of Kareem Block, an unidentified person lurking around opened straight fire on them while his accomplice waited with his bike parked across the green belt. Thankfully, both remained safe as the bullets hit the door of the car.
Chairman FBR has expressed his deepest concern over this gruesome act of terror aimed at causing grievous harm to the officer who is investigating some of the sensitive cases of Benami properties. He has directed DG Anti Benami Directorate to take up this serious matter with senior management of Lahore police to apprehend the culprits and bring them to book. He further reiterated that such timid acts by the vested interests wouldn’t deter the team FBR in establishing writ of the department nor will FBR give in to these tactics aimed to influence the ongoing investigations into assets acquired through ill gotten money.
An FIR of the incident has been lodged with Police Station Muslim Town Lahore and investigation has been initiated to bring the culprits to justice.

چیئرمین ایف بی آر/سیکریٹری ریونیو ڈویژن ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق احمد نے علامہ اقبال ٹاؤن، لاہور میں ایف بی آر کے ایک آفیسر کوفائرنگ کا نشانہ بنائے جانے کے واقعے کی پرزور انداز میں مذمت کی ہے۔
اینٹی بے نامی زون میں تعینات آئی آر ایس آفیسر سلمان نوید اپنے دوست سردار سولنگی کے ہمراہ اپنے دفتر سے نکلے۔ DOT علامہ اقبال ٹاؤن کے راستے میں جب وہ کریم بلاک کے ٹریفک سگنل پر پہنچے تو آس پاس موجود ایک نامعلوم شخص نے ان پر سیدھی فائرنگ کردی جب کہ اس کا ساتھی گرین بیلٹ کی دوسری جانب اپنی موٹر سائیکل پر انتظار کر رہا تھا۔خوش قسمتی سے دونوں کی جان محفوظ رہی کیونکہ گولیاں گاڑی کے دروازے پر لگیں۔
چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے دہشت گردی کی اس بہیمانہ کارروائی پر گہری تشویش کا اظہار کیا ہے، جس کا مقصد بے نامی جائیداد کے کچھ حساس کیسز کی تفتیش کرنے والے آفیسرکو جانی نقصان پہنچانا تھا ۔ انہوں نے ڈی جی اینٹی بے نامی ڈائریکٹوریٹ کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ اس سنگین معاملے کو لاہور پولیس کی اعلیٰ انتظامیہ کے سامنے رکھیں تاکہ ملزمان کو پکڑ کر کیفر کردار تک پہنچایا جا سکے۔ انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا ہے کہ مفاد پرست ٹولےکی طرف سے ایسی بزدلانہ کارروائی کر کے محکمانہ رِٹ قائم کرنے کیلئے ٹیم ایف بی آر کی راہ میں روڑے نہیں اٹکائے جا سکتے اور ناجائز آمدنی سے حاصل کیے گئے اثاثوں کی ایف بی آر کی طرف سے جاری تحقیقات کو ایسے ہتھکنڈے اپنا کر متاثر نہیں کیا جا سکتا ۔
واقعے کی ایف آئی آر تھانہ مسلم ٹاؤن لاہور میں درج کر کے ملزمان کو کیفر کردار تک پہنچانے کیلئے تفتیش کا آغاز کر دیا گیا ہے۔
