On which Day Pakistan Got Independence from British Rule?
14 August Independence Day is Pakistan’s national day. Pakistan when Pakistan appeared on the map of the world on 14th August 1947. On this independence day in 1947, Pakistan is a very unique country and proud because it got freedom as the world’s first Islamic republic after independence from British rule.
History of Islamic Republic of Pakistan!
Previously, Pakistan had been part of the colony of India since the 18th century, firstly as part of the East India company and then as part of the British Indian Empire.
Moreover, in 1947, when Pakistan achieved independence then it was divided into two different geographic areas known as East Pakistan and West Pakistan.
But unfortunately, in 1971 East Pakistan parted from West Pakistan and a new country came on the map of the world named, Bangladesh.
What is meant by Word ‘Pakistan’
The word Pakistan is a combination of two words ‘Pak’ meaning ‘Pure’ in Urdu and Persian, and ‘Stan’ meaning ‘Land’. The ‘i’ was added to aid pronunciation. “Pakistan”
Pakistanis start celebrating Pakistan’s Independence at midnight on 14 August and remain continuous all of the day.
As you know Pakistan celebrates Independence day on 14th August. However, 15th August is Independence Day in India.
How Pakistanis Celebrate Independence Day
On Independence day we show patriotism and national unity in the country and this spirit is committed among the nation.
The independence day starts with a 31 gun salute in the federal and 21 gun salute at the provincial capitals. Moreover, In Capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, at 9:59 am a siren will sound and all the traffic will come to a standstill for a period of one minute.
Then the president of Islamic Republic of Pakistan will raise the national flag with the national anthem of Pakistan. The president of Pakistan will then address the nation on this great occasion of Independence day.
